Mother's Day is for 'showing how much you care'
Date Posted: 09/03/11
Families can help to make their mother feel special on Sunday April 3rd by showing how much they care.
Nichola Lashmar, editor of AskaMum.co.uk, told those looking for hotel breaks for Mother's Day that it is the thought that counts.
She suggested that anything which gives a mum time off and some space will be an ideal gift, while doing tasks that would normally be hers is also a good approach.
"Homemade cards are a lovely idea, or anything that is going to tug at your mum's strings [such as] pictures of children in a frame or pictures of yourself in a frame," she added.
Ms Lashmar went on to say that Mother's Day is all about "taking the weight off of her for at least a proportion of the day".
International Women's Day was celebrated yesterday, marking 100 years since women took to the streets demanding the right to work and vote.
