Monty Python's Spamalot hits the road
Date Posted: 23/06/11
Fans of Monty Python will be able to get their comedy kicks when Spamalot starts touring the country later this year.
The production has been "lovingly ripped off from Monty Python and the Holy Grail" and will start at Brighton's Theatre Royal on Thursday December 15th.
Those booking Liverpool hotels can catch the musical when it arrives at the city's Empire theatre next year between Monday January 16th and Saturday January 21st.
Its run will continue in Oxford, before moving on to Grimsby, Torquay, York, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sunderland.
Spamalot tells the story of the legendary King Arthur and his knights of the round table. The tale goes to the extreme, with beautiful show girls, cows, killer rabbits and fish-slapping Finns providing the entertainment.
It has a book by Eric Idle along with a new score which has been created by Idle and John Du Prez.
Last year's tour led to a large amount of positive praise, with Chris Tarrant telling listeners on BBC Radio 2 that the production is "really great. If you haven't seen it, go!"
