Date Posted: 01/11/11
Mark Benton has been named in the cast of award-winning play The Railway Children, taking on the role of Station Master Perks.
He will swap Waterloo Road for Waterloo Station theatre when he appears in the show between Saturday December 3rd and Sunday January 8th.
The Railway Children has played to over 400,000 people booking London theatre breaks since it started its life at the York Theatre Royal in 2008.
Along with his appearances in Waterloo Road, Hustle, Silent Witness and Doctor Who, Benton has a host of stage credits, including starring in the Lyric Hammersmith's Comedians and Kosher Harry at the Royal Court.
The Railway Children is set at the old Eurostar Terminal at Waterloo Station, providing an authentic backdrop for the story of three children who move from London to Yorkshire after their father has been taken away.
Currently, Craig Warnock, David Baron, Mark Holgate and Tim Lewis star in the production.
