London's Olympic Stadium tipped to hold concerts

Those planning on visiting London in the near future could soon be looking at securing cheap hotels near the Olympic Stadium.
This is after BBC London reported that the venue could be used for large-scale concerts in future, with promoters suitably impressed by the recent Olympic opening and closing ceremonies.
According to the news provider, a series of rock concerts will be held at the venue this summer, kicking off in July, with concerts normally held at Hyde Park set to move.
The chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation, Dennis Hone, said the stadium represents an "exciting" opportunity, adding that the organisation has the chance "to put on some major events in the park - some music events and festivals and an anniversary weekend" in late July.
He also said he hoped to be able to announce who would be appearing in the concerts over the coming weeks.
