Liverpool 'proud of its Hope Street culture'

Visitors booking Liverpool hotels are in for a weekend of culture, according to a tourism spokesperson, with the city's two cathedrals both worth a visit.
A representative for VisitLiverpool.com said that Liverpool is "extremely proud" of the buildings, which sit at either end of Hope Street.
"Gothic in design, Liverpool Cathedral is the largest Anglican cathedral in Britain and fifth largest in the world. It was designed by architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, designer of the red telephone box. The Tower Experience takes visitors to the very top of the cathedral for a bird’s eye view of the city," she added.
On Thursday nights between March and October, Liverpool Cathedral is open until 21:00BST for late night tower views, making the event an ideal photo opportunity.
The spokesperson went on to say that Hope Street is also home to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, which is currently led by conductor Vasily Petrenko.
