Lion King and The Wizard of Oz extend booking periods

Families on the lookout for London theatre breaks are now being given even longer to see two of the West End's favourite shows.
This is because The Wizard of Oz and The Lion King have had their runs extended at the London Palladium and Lyceum Theatre respectively.
Andrew Lloyd Webber's production, which tells the tale of Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion and Dorothy, will stay at the venue until Sunday October 28th 2012, with The Lion King keeping its residence until Sunday September 9th 2012.
Disney's show is the ninth longest-running musical in West End history and has been entertaining audiences at the Lyceum theatre since October 1999.
Another London production which has announced an extended booking period this week is The 39 Steps, which is running at the Criterion theatre.
Starring Laura Rogers, Rufus Wright and Dermot Canavan, the show can be seen up until Saturday October 20th having originally started at the West Yorkshire Playhouse six years ago.
