Jill Halfpenny to star in Abigail's Party at Menier Chocolate Factory

Jill Halfpenny will star in Abigail's Party at the Menier Chocolate Factory, it has been announced.
The production, which stems from Oscar winner Mike Leigh, opens in front of audiences booking London theatre breaks from Friday March 2nd, running until Saturday April 21st.
It premiered back in 1977, with Alison Steadman appearing in the original cast.
Abigail's Party will take theatre fans back to 1970's suburbia, and focuses on Beverly and her husband Lawrence who are throwing a party for their neighbours.
The comedy evolves when prejudices are unmasked and tempers begin to flare, with the evening ending in disaster.
Previously, Halfpenny picked up the 2011 Olivier Award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical after a successful spell in Legally Blonde The Musical.
She is also known for her appearances in Eastenders and Waterloo Road, while her stage credits include Calendar Girls and Wild At Heart.
Currently, the Menier Chocolate Factory is showing Pippin, with Caroline Quentin appearing in the production from today (Tuesday January 10th) until Sunday January 22nd.
