The Importance of Being Earnest transfers to Theatre Royal Haymarket
Date Posted: 18/01/12
The Theatre Royal Haymarket has announced that it will welcome The Importance of Being Earnest for a short run starting at the end of this month.
It comes to the West End after enjoying a sell-out spell at the Old Red Lion, which is one of the capital's favourite fringe venues.
Those booking London theatre breaks can see the production from Tuesday January 31st, with performances taking place until Saturday February 11th.
Furthermore, Wednesday February 1st, Saturday February 4th and its closing night will all feature afternoon and evening shows.
The story of The Importance of Being Earnest is written by Oscar Wilde and it is directed by Henry Filloux-Bennett, who remains faithful to the original tale while also adding a modern twist.
Currently, Theatre Royal Haymarket is playing host to The Lion in Winter, which features Robert Lindsay and Joanna Lumley. It has been running since November 2011, and finishes at the venue on Saturday January 28th.
