Harrogate's Fat Badger to host Burns Night celebration
Date Posted: 13/01/12
Burns Night will be celebrated in true style at Harrogate's Fat Badger bar later this month.
The establishment is hosting the event to honour the life of poet Robert Burns on Wednesday January 25th, where a traditional supper will be served.
Visitors staying in Harrogate hotels will be able to enjoy haggis, neeps and tatties along with a dram of Highland Park 12-year-old single malt whisky, or a glass of house wine for just £10-a-head.
The Fat Badger has proved to be a popular destination since opening in the spa town's Montpellier Quarter, and recently picked up two awards in the Plush magazine awards.
It was voted Harrogate's favourite bar and was also chosen as the best newcomer.
Born in 1759 in Alloway, Scotland, Burns made a reputation for himself through his poetry, as well as his liking for drink and women.
He was regarded as a pioneer of the Romantic Movement and he became a cult figure, resulting in him being voted the Greatest Scot by STV viewers in 2009.
