Godspeed You! Black Emperor to play the capital
Date Posted: 07/06/12

Following an incredible run of shows in December 2010, Canadian post-rock legends Godspeed You! Black Emperor are to return to the capital this winter.
Fans of the band should book London hotels for Sunday, November 4th to catch them at the HMV Forum.
Beginning in Montreal, Quebec in the 1990s, they made a name for themselves by creating expansive soundscapes through the varied instrumentation of the eight members. Songs typically build slowly over 20 or 30 minutes before coming to a loud crashing crescendo at the end.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor split in 2003 to concentrate on other musical projects but reformed in 2010 for a UK festival called All Tomorrow's Parties, which the band curated.
The band's music has often been described as the sound of the apocalypse, and the song East Hastings even featured in Danny Boyle's hit film 28 Days Later.
Tickets for the concert are available now and priced at £20.
