Get Ready for Liverpool Carnival
Date Posted: 23/06/14
With the summer now in full swing, it’s little surprise that a host of parades and carnivals are on the cards for the coming weeks and months, with July seeing the Liverpool International Carnival return to the city’s streets.
This colourful event will take place on Saturday July 12th and will be a celebration of the city’s diverse communities.
Over 1,000 people wearing colourful costumes will join the procession, dancing through the streets to the beat of drums and the sound of music. In 2014, the theme is ‘Our Commonwealth’, so you can expect to see an eclectic array of performers from Europe, the Caribbean and elsewhere around the world.
Princes Park is the end point for the parade and is also where the World in Princes Park Festival will be hosted on the same day.
If you miss the carnival - or just want the fun to continue long after the floats have passed - head down here to take part in family art workshops, see a wide array of performances, and sample global food at the many stalls set up in the park. You may want to book a night in a hotel in Liverpool to really make the most of what’s going on.
