Date Posted: 08/11/13
Today marks the opening of a new exhibition about the Georgian period at the British Library in London. Georgians Revealed is set to run between November 8th and March 11th at the the famous institution.
Some of the exhibits are taken from the library's collections of maps, illustrated books, adverts and newspapers. Others are on-loan.
The show is open throughout the week, between 10am and 6pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 10am and 8pm on Tuesdays; 10am and 5pm on Saturdays and 11am and 5pm on Sundays.
"Tasteful and polite, or riotous and pleasure-obsessed? Discover the Georgians as they really were, through the objects that tell the stories of their lives," the British Library website states.
The library, perhaps the most famous in the country, can be found on Euston Road in the capital. It's also currently home to an exhibition called Picture This: Children's Illustrated Classics, which runs until January 26th and is free to enter.
Other London attractions that people taking short breaks in the city can see include the V&A and the Tower of London.
