Gemma Arterton Gears up for West End Debut

A new musical will be coming to the West End this autumn - an adaptation of movie Made in Dagenham, which centres on the actions of the women who worked at a Ford car plant and fought for equal rights for female and male employees in the 1960s.
One of the star members of the cast is Gemma Arterton, who is swapping Hollywood movies for a stint on the stage.
Speaking to Official London Theatre, she revealed that she has always wanted to appear in a musical.
“I think when musicals are done really well, it sends shivers through your spine,” she enthused. Ms Arterton added that one of the things she likes about Made in Dagenham is that it’s based on a true story, so you get “grit and reality”, along with the catchy tunes.
The show is due to open at the Adelphi Theatre in November, although previews will be held throughout October. If it sounds like the sort of production you’d enjoy, make a weekend of it and book a hotel in London to allow you to enjoy a bit more of what the capital has to offer.
