Food and Drink Festival Returns to Wensleydale
Date Posted: 02/05/13
With the bank holiday weekend upon us and the weather looking fairly decent for a change, people around the country looking for inspiration for short breaks may want to consider a trip to Yorkshire for the Dales Festival of Food and Drink.
Taking place in Wensleydale from May 4th to 6th, the event aims to showcase the very best in local cuisine and will also include a healthy smattering of entertainment and artistic performances.
The ever-popular beer tent will this year be run by Daleside Brewery, which will be producing a special ale just for the festival.
Free cookery demonstrations are also set to be held by leading local chefs, while over 80 different exhibitors will be displaying their produce in the 14,000 sq ft marquee.
Local writers including the likes of Andy Seed and Susan Parry will also be giving talks at the Richard Whitely Pavilion, regaling visitors with tales of their own experiences and knowledge of the Dales.
