Festival of Wonders Kicks Off in Lancashire
Date Posted: 17/05/13
This weekend (May 17th to 19th), venues across the country will be staying open late as part of Museums at Night, with special one-off events being staged all over the UK.
As part of this nationwide initiative, Pennine Lancashire has brought together 20 different exhibition centres throughout the region to create the Festival of Wonders, which aims to highlight the history and heritage of the region and its museums.
Anyone staying in Blackburn, Bolton or Manchester hotels this weekend is therefore in for a treat, as several concerts, plays, exhibitions and workshops will be taking place across the county over the next couple of days.
Included in the line-up is Egyptian Explorers, which is being held by the Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday evening, and will enable visitors to participate in a range of Egyptian themed activities including a mini excavation and arts and crafts workshops for both children and adults.
