Festival of Living Crafts Comes to Hatfield House
Date Posted: 10/05/13
Anyone staying in London hotels this weekend may want to consider taking a short trip to Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, where a huge gathering of craftspeople is taking place, celebrating the nation's huge variety of skills and products.
The Festival of Living Crafts runs until Sunday (May 12th), and brings together hundreds of ceramic artists, furniture makers, stained glass designers and a wide array of other professionals with traditional occupations, giving visitors the chance to see these amazingly skilled individuals in action.
A special Arts in Herts marquee will also provide guests with the opportunity to meet and interact with local arts and crafts experts, and will feature representatives from organisations such as the Blacksmiths Guild and the British Woodcarvers Association, among others.
Plenty of traditional entertainment will also be on offer, with Morris dancers, storytellers, a brass band and even yarnsmiths on hand to make sure everyone is having fun.
