Family Events at the Cutty Sark
Date Posted: 20/02/14
During the month of March, the historic tea clipper the Cutty Sark will be hosting a range of family events and activities.
Highlights include a family fun weekends called ‘Whatever the weather’ and another entitled ‘Stormy seas and other stories’.
On March 1st to 2nd, kids of all ages can walk the decks and pretend to be at sea, learning sailor weather lingo such as ‘stuck in the doldrums’ or ‘drenched by a heavy squall’. They will also be able to create their own weather charts to take home.
Also on March 1st will be half an hour of children’s stories, where storytellers will recount tales of stormy seas, inside the ship itself.
On March 2nd, children can meet Captain Woodget, the Cutty Sark’s longest serving master, and hear tales of his voyages across the ocean waves.
Enjoy a visit to the Cutty Sark on a city break and find out what other family activities are on in the capital.
