Experience Rose Week in Belfast
Date Posted: 17/06/14
Rose Week is a fantastic event for families on a city break in Belfast, with plenty going on to occupy children and parents alike.
The 2014 festival also marks the 50th anniversary of the City of Belfast International Rose Gardens, which means it will be a particularly memorable event this year.
This area dedicated to roses is located in Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park and it is here that much of the action will take place between Monday July 21st and Sunday July 27th.
Floral demonstrations, rose and other flower show exhibitions, a host of live music, and other entertainment are on the cards for the week-long event, with things going on from 2pm to 5pm every day.
Even if you can’t make it to Belfast for Rose Week, it’s still worth spending some time at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park. Every summer, you can see more than 20,000 blooms in the Rose Gardens, with the beds divided into sections showcasing historical rose breeds, trial plants and even bushes cultivated by local breeders.
