Eric Clapton is to play a select number of concerts in the UK in 2013, as he celebrates entering his fifth decade as a musician.
Fans of the blues and rock guitar legend should book London hotels between Friday, May 17th and Thursday, May 23rd to catch him at one of five dates at the Royal Albert Hall. He is also set to play two dates outside of the capital at Birmingham's LG Arena on Monday, May 13th and at the Manchester Arena on Tuesday, May 14th.
Clapton has bandied together a group of expert musicians for his spring dates, including long-time collaborators Doyle Bramhall II on guitar, Steve Jordan on drums, Chris Stainton on piano and keyboards and Willie Weeks on bass.
Joining the old guard is Paul Carrack on the organ and keyboards and Greg Leisz on pedal steel guitar.
Clapton first started performing in a blues duo with David Brock in pubs around Surrey in 1962. He then joined his first band The Rooseters, an early R&B group, at the age of 17 before reaching fame with The Yardbirds in 1963.
