English clubs look to proceed to the knockout round of Champions League
Date Posted: 08/12/10
Arsenal will hope to confirm their place in the next round of the Champions League tonight, when they host Partizan Belgrade at the Emirates tonight.
Arsene Wenger's side are currently tied on nine points with Portuguese side Braga, but take on the Serbian side who are currently nailed to the bottom of group H with no points.
If Arsenal win, then they will go into the draw for the next stage, which will then decide when fans need to book London hotels for the side's next date in Europe.
Chelsea, who are already through to the knockouts, travel to Marseille tonight, looking to keep their 100 per cent winning record in place.
They are joined in the draw, which will be made by Sir Bobby Charlton on Friday December 17th, by Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who have both topped their groups.
By finishing top, the English clubs could avoid facing European giants, including Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich until the quarter-final stage.
