England line up Wales and Ireland matches ahead of World Cup
Date Posted: 22/11/10
England have announced that they will play two warm-up games against Wales ahead of next year's Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.
Martin Johnson's side will host Warren Gatland's team at Twickenham on Saturday August 6th, before the two sides meet again a week later in Wales.
The impressive Millennium Stadium will be the venue where those booking Cardiff hotels can see the two rugby giants clash, on Saturday August 13th.
Furthermore, England will also travel to Dublin to take on Ireland 14-days later, before departing to New Zealand the following week.
"These three games are an important element in our build-up to Rugby World Cup 2011. We’re looking forward to playing both Wales home and away and Ireland as part of our preparation, and they should be excellent contests," said Johnson.
England's hopes of causing an upset at the World Cup have been boosted by a promising winter international programme, which has seen them beat Australia and Samoa, following a tightly-contested defeat to the All Blacks.
