The non-profit organisation Peace One Day has organised a concert at Wembley Arena, with Elton John headlining the proceedings.
Fans of the Rocket Man should book London hotels for Friday, September 21st to attend the concert, which is closing the London 2012 Festival.
More acts are set to be announced in the coming weeks, with Peace One Day ambassador Jude Law and the organisation's founder, Jeremy Gilley, also making contributions.
Peace One Day rose to prominence in 2001 when it managed to encourage a process that led to to United Nations member states adopting the first annual global ceasefire and non-violence day, which has remained as September 21st ever since.
The show will be filmed in HD and broadcast around the globe as one of a trio of concerts to mark Peace One Day, all as part of the London 2012 Festival, which has been introduced to coincide with the Olympic Games.
Some 12,000 performances and events are being held across the festival, including dance, music, theatre, fashion, food, art and film.
