Edward II Coming to the National Theatre this August

August this year will see one of the renaissance's most celebrated plays, 'Edward II', hit the stage at the National Theatre.
Penned by Shakespeare's contemporary Christopher Marlowe, the play explores themes such as homosexuality, love and family, and offers audiences a thrilling, tragic tale to digest.
It focusses on the relationship between king Edward II and Gaveston, his lover.
Tickets go on general sale July 1st for this production, which is set to run between August 28th and October 26th this year.
It could be a great chance for theatre fans to see this much-praised classic play performed live.
The National Theatre is currently staging a production of Shakespeare's famous tragedy, 'Othello'.
