Dublin Gig for The Script

Dublin Gig for The Script

Irish band The Script have revealed that they will be playing a special homecoming gig at Dublin Castle in September.

The three-piece group will be returning to home soil on Saturday September 13th, with tickets for what is likely to be a much sought-after show due to go on sale tomorrow (Friday August 22nd).

If you’re planning a weekend break in Dublin during September, you may want to try and grab a spot for the gig. Even if you don’t, the atmosphere in the city is likely to be electric as these local boys come home.

The Script have been working on their latest album No Sound Without Silence for the past year, as well as touring in the USA, and have kept a relatively low profile. Their previous hits include Breakeven (Falling into Pieces), For the First Time, and Nothing.

Danny O’Donoghue, who is the lead vocalist and pianist, told the Irish Independent that the group have been tinkering with the upcoming release while they’ve been on the road.

“We’ve taken The Script around the world and we spent the past eight or nine months touring America extensively. While we were there, we took a studio bus with us - it’s a bus with a recording studio and beds. We wanted to take the energy we normally have live and bottle that,” he explained.

There’s no doubt that the band will put on a lively and electric performance in their home city.

Dublin Castle is a fantastic venue for a musical gig, and a wonderful place to explore during a trip to the Irish capital.

The fortification was constructed in 1204 and has developed and expanded over the centuries into the grand building you can see today. It is free to wander around the castle’s grounds, as well as to visit the Garda Museum and the Revenue Museum.

Tours of the state apartments are available and ticketed, so you can even get a glimpse of the grandeur of the castle’s interior if you want to.
