Date Posted: 23/11/11
US singer/songwriter Don McLean will be touring the UK next year to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of American Pie.
He will play in a host of venues around the country, kicking things off on Friday October 19th at Colston Hall, where fans booking Bristol hotels will be able to see him perform a string of classics.
McLean then moves on to Manchester's Bridgewater Hall a night later, before he hosts a concert at Gateshead's The Sage.
Further dates follow at London's Royal Albert Hall on Thursday October 25th, Birmingham's Symphony Hall on Saturday October 27th and Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall on the following night.
Along with his famous hit single American Pie, McLean is also known for singing Crying, And I Love You So, Vincent (Starry Night) and Castles in the Air.
Having originally made number two in the UK charts back in 1971, a re-issue of American Pie in 1991 managed to climb to the same position.
