Dominic West to star in Butley at the Duchess
Date Posted: 22/02/11

Butley is being revived for those booking London theatre breaks later this year and it will star Dominic West.
Opening at the Duchess theatre from Wednesday June 1st, West will take the title role alongside Penny Downie and Paul McGann.
Written by Simon Gray, Butley first opened 40 years ago at the Criterion theatre, and tells the story of a university lecturer whose life is steadily going wrong.
His separated wife has found a new man and everyone else around him seems to be enjoying good fortune.
West is best known for his portrayal of Jimmy McNulty in The Wire, but he has built up considerable experience on the stage, having starred in Life is a Dream at the Donmar Warehouse in 2009 and As You Like It at Wyndham's.
Currently, the Duchess is showing Love Story, which is booking until Saturday April 30th and features Michael Ball making his West End debut.
