Discover the Secrets of the Ming Dynasty in Edinburgh
Date Posted: 20/06/14
Ming: The Golden Empire is a fascinating new exhibit that will go on show at the National Museum of Scotland later this month, with the installation open until October.
This is a unique chance to see artefacts that are usually on display at the Nanjing Museum in China, with the establishment loaning some of its most valuable pieces to the museum in Edinburgh.
The Ming Dynasty was hugely influential in Chinese history, holding power from 1368 to 1644, and is considered to be the starting point for modern China.
If you’re planning a weekend break to Edinburgh later this summer, make sure you take the opportunity to see this remarkable collection.
The exhibition will open on Friday June 27th, with entry costing £10 for adults and £6.50 for children between the ages of 12 and 15 - any kids younger than this can get in for free.
Edinburgh is home to many great museums, including the Museum of Edinburgh, the Museum of Childhood and Lauriston Castle.
