Discover Folklore in Prague
Date Posted: 26/06/14
Prague Folklore Days is the largest folk dance event in central Europe and every year it draws in groups from all over the world.
Running from Thursday July 24th to Sunday July 27th, the festival sees amateur folklore groups descend on the city centre to showcase their dancing, singing, music and other performances.
Marching groups, including majorettes, marching bands, carnival performers and historic soldiers will also be among those taking part.
Throughout the course of the event, there will be several open-air folklore shows each day, allowing different groups to introduce the crowds to their particular talents.
There will also be a parade through the city where the numerous ensembles who have travelled to Prague all come together to put on a real spectacle in the streets of this charming destination.
If you’re going to be staying in a hotel in Prague during the event, it’s well worth trying to catch a few of the performances in between sightseeing.
