Discover Extremes at The Horniman Museum
Date Posted: 19/02/14
If the natural world fascinates you, then make a visit to the Horniman Museum for a new exhibition featuring hands-on experiences, games, experiments, film and taxidermy animal specimens.
Running until November 2nd, the Extremes exhibit will explain how animals manage to survive in some of the most hostile conditions on earth, including extreme heat, cold, dryness, constant darkness and with little oxygen.
The display will lead kids and adults alike on a journey to see how animals and plants survive in these conditions, through looking at animal specimens and detailed films.
Families will also have fun learning through the interactive displays where they can try keep up with the drinking speed of a camel, see how much fat they have compared with a seal and feel the air-conditioning inside an ostrich’s beak.
Ticket prices cost £3.30 for children, £6.60 for adults and £16.50 for families.
Make your visit to the Horniman Museum part of a family hotel break in London, discovering what else the capital has to offer.
