Culture vultures 'spoilt for choice' on London breaks
Date Posted: 02/02/11
Tourists visiting London during the first half of this year will be able to choose from a rich list of cultural activities to undertake, according to an expert.
Sally Chatterjee, chief executive officer at Visit London, said that Afghanistan: Crossroads of the Ancient World at the British Museum, Watercolour at the Tate Britain and London Street Photography at the Museum of London were just some things to keep an eye out for.
"London is a constantly evolving city and throughout 2010 hosted a range of events, conferences, exhibitions and sports which attracted visitors. The choice of accommodation in the city from five-star luxury hotels to family run B&Bs means that there is something for everyone," she added.
Ms Chatterjee went on to say that the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race and the first ever NBA league game to come to Europe are two sporting events which will be taking place in the near future.
The O2 arena also has a full 2011 programme, where visitors to London can see Peter Kay, Justin Bieber and Blink 182 among other acts.
