Covent Garden is ideal for a spot of Christmas dining

Parties booking Christmas breaks should ensure that they treat themselves to a meal in Covent Garden, as it is the most popular spot among diners in the capital, according to an expert.
Colin Tenwick, chief executive officer of Livebookings, said that the area comes out on top ahead of Mayfair, the City, the Green Park region, Soho and Chinatown.
He said that visitors to Covent Garden can expect to see a "high density of diverse restaurants" from which they can choose to eat at.
"Celebrity appeal is a huge factor when looking for a high-end restaurant. Bookings for the third annual London Restaurant Festival provide a great example of this. Celeb chef Gordon Ramsay remains as popular as ever, with four out of the ten most-booked venues for this year’s event being Ramsay restaurants," he added.
Recently, the Savoy in London appointed a new head chef at its River Restaurant, with Canadian James Pare taking over from Ryan Murphy.
