Christmas Collection at the Pyramid Gallery
Date Posted: 31/12/14
Visitors to York are advised to check out the Pyramid Gallery during their stay, which is refusing to let go of the festive season by showcasing its latest art exhibition well into 2015.
The so-called Christmas Collection will feature a number of fascinating works by various artists of all different backgrounds, with creations ranging from the unique and interesting to the fascinating and fun.
Art enthusiasts will be greeted by a selection of works that include not only splendid paintings and incredible photographic vistas, but also finely-made jewellery and superb structures.
In the main gallery and taking pride of place in the exhibition is a selection of works by Anita Klein, whose collection of linocut prints and paintings has thrilled people in public displays across Europe, the US and Australia.
While Klein, a fellow and former president of the Painter Printmakers, is certainly the main reason for visitors to flock to this unique exhibition, she is also backed up by ceramics enthusiast Louise Richards, whose skills in sculpture have won her acclaim from the critics.
Also worth looking at are the works from Graham Muir, who uses his impressive glassblowing skills to bend the material into unique and incredible shapes. Keep an eye out for his wonderful Arctic Sunrise piece.
All of the works on display are available to purchase, meaning that you may pick up the perfect Christmas present if you're running late, or perhaps a thoughtful New Year's gift for that special person who loves their art.
It's all going on at the Pyramid Art Gallery and more than 100 artists are participating at the event.
“Our reputation for handmade jewellery, all sourced from British-based jewellers, keeps the business viable and gives me freedom to show artwork that excites and interests us," commented gallery owner Terry Brett.
