Chicago enters final months at Cambridge Theatre
Date Posted: 23/05/11
Time is running out for those hoping to catch Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre while on London theatre breaks.
The ever-popular tale of murder and show business in jazz age Chicago will be leaving its West End home on August 27th after five years of successful shows.
Chicago is making way for the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Matilda to take up residency at the Cambridge Theatre from November 22nd.
But the producers believe Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart's time is not yet up, issuing a statement which said: "We are hopeful that Chicago's record breaking 14-year run in the West End will continue."
The show was originally performed at the Adelphi Theatre and has counted Ruthie Henshall, John Barrowman and Jill Halfpenny among its previous cast members.
Appearing in the lead roles as the production enters its final spell at the Cambridge Theatre are Sarah Soetaert as Roxie, Debbie Kurup as Velma, Jasna Ivir as Momma Morton and Jonathan Wilkes as the silver-tongued lawyer Billie Flynn.
