Check out the rooftop cinema at the National Theatre this summer
Date Posted: 09/07/14
Rooftop cinemas are the latest craze in London, with several bars and pubs across the city having converted their terraces into movie theatres for the summer. However, if you're looking to combine a trip to the theatre with an evening at the pictures then be sure to visit the National Theatre in August.
From the 11th to the 16th of the month, a pop-up cinema will be in place on the theatre's rooftop, called the Deck. Modelled on 1950s-style picture houses, the venue will be showing screening's of some of the National Theatre's most popular plays of the last few years - including London Assurance and One Man, Two Guvnors, the latter of which stars James Corden.
Visitors will receive a free drink, box of popcorn, packet of sweets and Brazilian-style hotdog, with deckchair seating helping to create a relaxed and comfy atmosphere.
Located on the South Bank of the Thames, the National Theatre is close to some top London hotels, and is the perfect place to spend an evening this summer.
