Check Out London’s Bowler Hat Festival
Date Posted: 17/06/14
If you’re planning a short break in London and are looking for something a little bit different to do, head to The Bowler Hat - a quirky festival taking place in Paternoster Square.
Running from Sunday June 22nd until Thursday July 17th, the event gives visitors the chance to see a range of cabaret, comedy and theatrical performances. While that in itself isn’t so unusual, the venue certainly is - a giant bowler hat.
All the shows are staged inside a giant, inflatable bowler hat that will be set up in the square especially for the occasion - certainly not your usual trip to the theatre.
The productions here will be fun and varied, with some - like Dogs Don’t Do Ballet, a puppeteer show - aimed at children. Appearances by satirists Richard Herring and Andy Zaltzman, meanwhile, are among the options to entertain an older audience.
Circus performances, commuter hour debates about various themes and a musical homage to Julie Andrews (in Julie Madly Deeply) are just a few of the other treats you can expect over the course of the three and a half weeks.
