Cast of Seminar Announced

From Thursday September 25th, audiences will be able to enjoy the clever and highly entertaining comedy Seminar at the Hampstead Theatre, and now the full cast has been announced.

Roger Allam plays Leonard, a cantankerous editor and former novelist, who takes on four young, aspiring writers to mentor them. His unorthodox approach to tuition sees his students clash, form alliances and come up with all manner of schemes to get them to the top.

Joining Allam on the stage will be Charity Wakefield - who has appeared in a number of other West End productions - and Rebecca Grant, who is best known for her role as Daisha Anderson in Holby City.

Rounding off the five-piece cast are Bryan Dick, who appeared as Ernie Wise in the TV drama Eric And Ernie, and Oliver Hembrough, who has previously worked under Seminar director Terry Johnson on a production of Oh What a Lovely War.

Allam, who has won three Olivier Awards in his illustrious career that has seen him play a wide variety of roles on the stage, TV and big screen, will no doubt be a big draw for audiences on theatre breaks in London.

In fact, tickets for the play have proved so popular that the theatre announced extra dates for the show when they revealed the full cast.

Bookings are now being taken until Saturday November 1st - a two-week extension to its planned run.

Seminar has previously graced the Broadway stage, with runs in 2011 and 2012. During those productions, Leonard was played by Alan Rickman and then Jeff Goldblum.

Theresa Rebeck, the playwright behind the comedy, has seen many of her plays find success on stages in the US - View of the Dome, Mauritius and The Water’s Edge are among other works she has penned.
