Burgundy is a popular France hotspot

If you're looking for an exciting getaway this summer, then book short breaks to France's exciting hotspot Burgundy.
It is one of France's lesser known holidaying regions. But it has fantastic wines, impeccable local cuisine and a beautiful landscape full of colourful sunflower fields, weaving canals and charming historical towns and cities.
What's more, there is plenty of quaint accommodation run by lovely local families that are very affordable. And if you're feeling a little more adventurous, why not hire a striking wooden barge to take along the Burgundy canals?
Some exciting attractions in the central France region include the Sens Museum along the River Yonne, which has a beautiful carved stone collection and a Gallo-Roman villa.
The caves at Arcy-sur-Cure are also well worth a visit. They feature vast chambers, subterranean lakes and some mesmerizing examples of some of the world's oldest cave paintings.
