Britain on Foot Campaign Aims to Promote Outdoor Adventures
Date Posted: 09/05/13
The UK is a great place for a break, with so many exciting towns and cities to discover, all within relatively close proximity to each other. However, despite the small size of the country there is certainly no shortage of rural areas, offering plenty of excellent opportunities to get involved in outdoor activities.
To help promote this, the Outdoor Industries Association has launched the Britain on Foot campaign, backed by several public bodies such as VisitEngland, while ministers from both the Department of Health and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport have also lent their support to the initiative.
The idea behind the concept is to encourage as many people as possible to try their hand at new adventurous activities in the great outdoors, with hill walking, rock climbing, sea kayaking and trekking among the pursuits on offer throughout the UK.
Anyone looking for inspiration for weekend breaks around the country may therefore want to find out more about Britain on Foot, which has plenty of suggestions for exciting UK holidays and day trips.
