BristFest 2012 gets bigger and better this September
Date Posted: 14/09/12
The two-day BristFest festival will see Bristol hotels buzzing with excitement later this month.
Ashton Court Estate will see hip hop legends De La Soul perform alongside Hawkwind, Beardyman and Roni Size and over 300 other acts from across the south-west.
Taking place on Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd, this year's festival promises to be even bigger than last year and will be a delight for anyone on weekend breaks staying in Bristol hotels.
Up to 20,000 people will be able to enjoy this year's performances, showing just how much the festival has grown in its five short years of life.
Bristfest was established in 2007 by a group of locals who were passionate about preserving the culture and musical innovation of the south-west.
Combining after Ashton Court Festival declared bankruptcy, the group created a not-for-profit charity and raised nearly £100,000 to stage the first incarnation, which drew in 8,000 visitors.
Since then, the festival has gone from strength to strength, seeing local talent such as Babyhead and Laid Blak performing alongside international stars.
