Blur to be given outstanding contribution prize at the BRIT Awards

Blur will be honoured at next year's BRIT Awards with the outstanding contribution to music prize.
The band, fronted by Damon Albarn, will pick up their gong in front of fans booking hotels near The O2 arena on Tuesday February 21st, with the event being held at the venue for the second year running.
They receive the award 21 years after the release of their debut album Leisure, bringing with it singles She's So High, There's No Other Way and Bang.
"It's great to have recognition for all the work and all the heartache and all the joy that's gone into this band," said Albarn.
Guitarist Graham Coxon compared being in Blur to "a kind of time travel", noting that the band had not changed much over the years.
The full list of nominations for the 2012 BRIT Awards will be unveiled in January at London's Savoy Hotel, with Rihanna and Coldplay just two of the favourites for prizes.
