Bath Celebrates its History with Nocturnal Events
Date Posted: 14/05/13
Anyone looking for ideas for weekend breaks over the coming months may want to consider taking a trip to the historic city of Bath, where several night-time events will be taking place throughout the summer in celebration of the local heritage.
The most famous landmark in the area is undoubtedly the building which houses the Roman baths from which the city takes its name, and those with an interest in learning more about this can take part in torch-lit tours of the 2,000-year-old venue throughout the months of July and August.
Several of Bath's other museums, meanwhile, are set to take part in the nationwide Museums At Night extravaganza on the weekend of May 16th to 18th.
Among the participating venues is the Fashion Museum, which will be offering an evening of exhibition tours, dancing and champagne, while the Bath Postal Museum, which tells the story of the city's role in the establishment of the modern postal system, will also be holding nocturnal displays.
Tourists staying in Bristol hotels can also take a day trip to Bath, as the two cities are in very close proximity to one another.
