Barbican to Host Wonder Street Fair This Weekend
Date Posted: 05/04/13
The weather may be putting a downer on many people's plans this weekend, but for those on London breaks looking for some entertainment to take their mind of the gloomy climate, the Barbican's Wonder Street Fair is sure to provide the perfect tonic.
Launched as part of the Festival of Neuroscience which is currently taking place at the centre, Wonder Street Fair will feature a series of entertaining and educational activities aimed at spreading awareness of mental health issues.
A number of celebrities will be appearing at the fun-filled event, including Ruby Wax, who will be talking about her own battle with depression.
Beginning on Sunday (April 7th) and running until Tuesday, the fair will also include an audiovisual spectacular on the subject of consciousness presented by electronica DJ James Holden and mathematician Marcus du Sautoy.
Free activities such as cave painting and 'neuron knitting' will also be on offer, and visitors will be able to interact with scientists at the event as well.
