Al Murray returns to York for Barrel of Fun tour
Date Posted: 14/01/11
Al Murray, famous for his Pub Landlord character is returning to the Grand Opera House for the first time in five years, as he brings his extended Barrel of Fun tour to Yorkshire.
The comedian will entertain those staying in York hotels on Thursday June 16th after announcing a series of additional dates.
He will also be playing in Stirling, the Isle of Lewis, Kirkwall and Inverness throughout June.
Murray is attempting to go back to basics with these extra performances, which see him playing in smaller, more intimate venues, as opposed to large arenas.
The York Press reported that the last time he played in the city, he sped on stage on board a motorised bar.
Murray will take the audience through his pub philosophy, including his witty observations on women, beer and mainland Europe.
The Pub Landlord started his Barrel of Fun tour back in September 2010, with a number of warm-ups at the Tabard Theatre.
