ABBA Waxworks Launched in Blackpool
Date Posted: 22/11/13
Dancing Queen, I Have a Dream and Take a Chance on Me group ABBA are some of the most recent waxworks to come to the Blackpool branch of Madame Tussauds.
The four stars have been dressed to look at they did in the SOS video of 1975 in the waxworks, the museum reports.
The men of the group, Bjorn and Benny, have white sequin and diamante decorated outfits and platforms, the women, Anni-Frid and Agnetha, have mini-dresses and leather boots on.
Altogether the sculptures cost £600,000 to make - a process which took four months.
Local Phil Winston’s Theatreworks Dance and Musical College students were on hand to welcome the waxworks at an event earlier this year.
"We’re delighted to have ABBA at the attraction and could think of no better way to welcome the Swedish stars than with a performance from our home-grown talented young people," commented general manager, Matthew Titherington.
