A Shakespearean Christmas treat for all with Richard III
Date Posted: 01/10/12
A fresh release of tickets for the West End transfer of the Shakespeare’s Globe productions of Richard III has been announced.
The performance, starring Mark Rylance, is moving to the Apollo Theatre from November, with 2,000 on-stage seats available and 6,000 in the auditorium.
Those looking for a reason to visit London could combine their Christmas shopping with a trip to see the production, which will feature the unique draw of being lit solely by over 100 lighted candles on stage.
William Shakespeare wrote Richard III around 1591. It centres around the rise of a man of ambition, determined to take the throne from his popular, good looking brother despite his physical disabilities, and is often regarded by fans as one of the the best.
The play will be running throughout the festive season and into the New Year, with the final performances being on the February 2nd and 3rd 2013.
Tickets are on sale from the Apollo Theatre now and start at £32.
