Kensington High Street Area Holiday Reviews

Kensington Palace, Kensington High Street Area

One of London's most fashionable districts, our hotels in Kensington are perfect for a short break in the capital; close by to all the excitement of central London, the area is just far enough removed from all the hustle and bustle for a relaxing getaway. Oxford Street, Mayfair and the glittering West End are all just a short tube ride away.

Kensington High Street is famed for its fabulous shopping, with upscale boutiques offering the very finest fashions and trendy goods. With a great range of stores, Westfield Shopping centre is also an excellent destination when on a shopping break. Our Kensington hotels are also in a good position to visit some of London's top attractions - pretty Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall and the Natural History Museum are all just a short walk away.

  • Endlessly elegant and very, very impressive, be sure to visit Kensington Palace and its stunning gardens - the former home of Princess Diana and currently the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Palace have a number of fascinating exhibitions permanently on show.
  • Well worth a visit at any time of year, The Victoria and Albert Museum (otherwise known as the V and A) often have the most popular and sought-after exhibitions in London.
  • Great for exhibitions and famous for its annual Horse Trials, Olympia London is a mere stone's throw away.

Overnight In London

Stay Date: 11/02/12, a customer who stayed at 4* Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum in Kensington wrote this review.

We stayed at the holiday inn kensington forum - a large hotel but ideally placed for visits to central London, and only 30 seconds from gloucester road underground. The lobby, halls and bedrooms See More  Read more information were spotless and all staff were friendly and helpful. The room overlooked the main entrance to the hotel, but was reasonably quiet and a/c kept it reasonably temperate. We visited covent garden which isalways an experience with indoor market, craft stalls and street performers aplenty. We ate at maxwells (about 50 yards from market towards underground station), and for a shared starter, 2 maincourses and drinks paid less than £25! the following day we ate at chinese buffet (mr wu's) around the corner from the trocadero centre in picadilly -cheap and cheerful, but good food and quick! for 2buffets and 2 cokes it was less than £10!! a bargain.   Collapse  Hide

London Surprise

Stay Date: 01/04/12, a customer who stayed at 4* NH London Kensington in Kensington wrote this review.

Booked this with Superbreak which is the first time I have done this but will certainly do this again. The hotel was far better than expected and was really good. Bed linen and towels really white See More  Read more information and fresh. Breakfast was good and was included in the superbreak deal which at £18.00 per person was a good deal. Staff really friendly and upon booking in the receptionist asked if we would like a toproom or lower level. We asked which was the better room and she said the rooms on the top floor. Room was lovely and plenty of coffee/tea available in the room. We were at the rear and it was reallyquiet and hard to imagine we were in London. We went to the ideal homes exhibition and the position of the hotel was absolutely ideal. Took under 10 mins to walk to earls court. Would definitely stayat this hotel again and Superbreak was a really good deal when including rail fare.   Collapse  Hide

Three Days In London

Stay Date: 18/08/12, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Holiday Inn London Kensington High Street in Kensington wrote this review.

The main purpose of our break was to experience a range of current attractions in London and therefore a primary requirement was a hotel in a part of the capital that also had easy access to The See More  Read more information Underground. The Kensington Close Hotel was ideally suited being five minutes from High Street Kensington Tube Station and a short walk from a diverse range of eating establishments and shops onKensington High Street. The Kensington Close is a large and very busy hotel but extremely well staffed which ensured a quick and efficient check in and check out. At breakfast there were well over a hundredguests in the restaurant area but there was never any delay in being seated and attended to. At all times staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Being close to a tube station meant that it was easyto access attractions from all parts of the capital. As my wife and I are interested in Art and the Theatre, we visited a West End show [39 Steps-brilliant) and took advantage of a tour ofShakespeare's Globe Theatre which was greatly enhanced by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. The Ballgown Exhibition at the V and A was unmissable (pre booking desirable) and the Leighton House Museum isa must for anyone interested in Mid/Late Victotrian Art; the Arts and Crafts movement and the position that Fredric Leighton held in this circle of creativity-the house being a capsule frozen in time.   Collapse  Hide

The hotel was excellent, but felt room was very small but adequate enough for sleeping in, staff were very friendly kept asking if everything was ok. Hotel was situated just a few minutes from See More  Read more information Gloucester Road Tube Station we had dinner on first night which was excellent just as breakfast was. There is a bus stop just outside the tube station this will take you directy to Westfield Shoppingcentre in about 10-15 minutes also across the road fron the tube there is a restarant called felfela which serves halal food we had an excellent meal here. Felt this hotel was quite central to where wewere going tto every day.   Collapse  Hide
