Visit to Rome

Stay Date: 25/03/07, a customer who stayed at 3* The Church Village in Rome wrote this review.

This was out 1st visit to Rome and whilst it was an excellent short break it was exhausting! Somuch to see and do. When we arrived at the airport we caught the Terravision coach - purchased tickets See More  Read more information at Stansted before the flight - no hassle transfer of approx 30 mins. We then purchased a metrobus ticket and caught the metro to Cornelia which was, as your brochure said, 1km from the hotel. We werepleased with the hotel - we never spend much time in the room it is purely used as a base! The cafes, bars and restaurants are very relaxed and the food is excellent! All the attractions were verygood - not too much queuing! It is extremely easy to get about with out a car using the metro and bus. All in all it was a great experience. We would definately use your company to book in the future.   Collapse  Hide

If You Can Vatican

Stay Date: 02/06/07, a customer who stayed at 4* The Church Palace in Rome wrote this review.

The Hotel Grand Palazzo Carpegna is described inside as a conference centre and thats what it is, with touring groups at the weekend. A great location, but could do better.I would rather have gin & See More  Read more information tonic at less than 8euro in "Happy Hour" and forego the "finger food" and I'd like the same enthusiasm for cleaning the bedroom floor as for changing the towels. Pity the directions to it werewrong. Rome is a mass of great places to visit, but take your camping gear if you want to get into the Vatican other than in an organised group.   Collapse  Hide

Perfect Weekend in Rome

Stay Date: 05/10/07, a customer who stayed at 4* The Church Palace in Rome wrote this review.

We hit the ground running, wanting to make the most of our stay we went straight to the colosseum. Our guided tour was informative but a bit lengthy. The Roman Forum was brought to life by an See More  Read more information independant guide, well worth 15 eruo per hour. The metro is an inexpensive way of getting round the city. The hotel was rooms were compact, avoid a 4th floor accomodation, as the rooms are built in theeves, they are dark and enclosed. The hotel is close to the metro and 4 stops from the vatican city. For a great atmosphere vist the Spanish Steps and Piazza Novona in the evening. Plenty of goodbars and restaurants. Beware there are few public toilets and in general the toilets in bars are baic and in some cases not very clean.   Collapse  Hide
