Upon arrival in Venice we found the hotel quite easily in one of the smartest districts of the city. Check-in was simple and the receptionist couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming. We were thrilled that the hotel management had upgraded our room as it was our honeymoon- and what a room it was! The most comfy bed you could hope for, solid marble ensuite and best of all, stunning views of the Grand Canal. The hotel itself is stunning but not over the top. All the staff were wonderful and helpful at all stages. Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold items, some local produce as well. A few items were a little cold but it was being topped up pretty quickly. The hotel bar is a lovely calm space with an exclusive terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. I recommend the Bellini from here! For us it was the little touches and extras that gave The Westin Europa and Regina the edge. There are many luxurious choices in Venice but this is a hotel we would come back to in a heartbeat. Collapse

In general, everything was good, but it was a special weekend connected with my husband's birthday, and I was choosing a hotel for a long time. When I found the Westin E&R hotel I fell in love with a stunning grand channel view room, only because of this I made a booking in this hotel (look at the photo on the hotel's website and you will understand me) but when we arrived we were accommodated in a rather small room, yes, with the view on the Grand channel but nothing spectacular! I was really sad. The next time I will choose another hotel nearby. Because the location is great. Collapse

This is my third time staying in this hotel, we always had a lovely time, amazing location, lovey staff at the bar. The reception staff were lovely too, I had no problem when I asked for a late checkout. One thing that was annoying is that there was no kettle or a coffee machine in the room, otherwise everything was wonderful. I highly recommend staying at the Westin Regina. Collapse

I chose this hotel being a deal & close to St Mark's Square. I opted to arrive by water taxi as I had to be checked in by midnight. I had upgraded to a Grand deluxe double with buffet breakfast for six nights. It was a treat after studying for a while. The room was lovely and big. They did leave a bottle of wine in my room as a thank you for staying six nights, which was much appreciated. I left by alilaguna ferry and can get the ferry from a stop around the corner to the airport for 15 euros. It was lovely to sit & have breakfast overlooking the water & nice views every morning. Anything you asked it was no bother. It was nice to see the decorations for the carnival. I am a single woman traveller and had saved up for three years to be able to afford this offer as I can't just up and go. I did expect to pay the tourist tax which I did cash. Fair enough they wanted my card for any in house purchases but for my mind there wouldn't be any. They wanted as per their 'policy' another 250 euros for purchases within the hotel. I was advised that unless I agreed to that I wouldn't be showed to the hotel room despite paying in full (£956) in advance for six nights. The reason I couldn't agree to it was because I simply didn't have the money. It didn't matter that I was a single woman traveller that had been in transit for 10 hours and was 11pm at night. It was regarded that 50 euros a day was nothing to spend in their hotel but it was not a good first impression to myself to presume I would agree to that and would be spending that in their hotel. Maybe I am not used to staying in 5 star hotels and their ways but I have stayed in Venice before. They have not demanded further money as the bill has been paid in advance in good faith. I had a first sleepless night, thinking I would have bank charges because of this and upon polite enquiring the next day they hadn't taken it. They tried to charge again for breakfast one morning and upon returning home there were £45 of pending charges on my bank account. I phoned and they were removed. I paid the tourist tax cash. I am all for paying my way and making sure the bill is paid. Just let me know the cost. Maybe I would have had dinner and a cocktail as a treat but it seemed to be an expectation that I would have further money. It kind of spoilt some of my holiday. 250 euros is a lot of money to me and to put me on the spot at 11pm at night is not a good start to the holiday. Maybe the level of clientele at the hotel may have more money than myself but it did upset me to be put on the spot so late on upon checking in. Everyone was lovely and nothing was a bother. The bathroom shower, I had to put down towels as the water pooled upon taking a shower and guests could easily slip. I just feel like they cared more about the bill and not me. Sorry I couldn't leave a better review but I am a woman on a budget and maybe the level of expectation is different to mine with money. As a suggestion if there had been a half board option upon making my booking I would have done that. I am not against paying my way and love the bill to be paid, it's just the way it was handled. It's a good location, lovely and warm, nice rooms and a good five star hotel. It was good to experience another way of living for a week. Collapse

Stayed for four days. Hotel was conveniently located and was clean and tidy. Hotel bar was expensive but that is to be expected. It was an anniversary trip and a big birthday and on two occasions the hotel have us complimentary cake and champagne in our room. Although my wife was pregnant so drinking a bottle of champers to myself two days running didn't help my hangovers. Lots to see and do in Venice. Expensive coffee in St Marks Square, but you only live once! Collapse
