I was under the gun to get our vacation booked and did not read reviews like I usually do until AFTER I had booked this place. I was very nervous after reading many horror stories. The BEST information I got from the reviews I read was that this is a timeshare and to expect to be tricked into attending their sales pitch. I was SO thankful I read this ahead of time. I booked thru Universal's website and there was NO indication anywhere in the booking process that this was a timeshare property. Universal did a good job to disguise this as one of their hotels. I was VERY angry to learn it was not, I felt duped. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AHEAD OF TIME- we got our room keys and info quickly. Had to give a credit card # for some $50 deposit (what it was for was not explained very well, but luckily at checkout we were told it would be credited back, we will see when the bill comes!) After getting our keys, we were passed off to another desk where we were told about the "complimentary breakfast" that would take place the next day along with a tour of the property. This is where knowing what it really was came in handy. Our very friendly employee QUICKLY changed his entire demeanor when he asked "what time will you be coming to breakfast?" and I replied "Oh, we won't be. We have other plans." He was angry, annoyed and tried to make me feel stupid. In an annoyed tone he asked "so you don't want to learn about the amenities?" and I answered "no thank you." He quickly motioned toward another desk and said, "they'll help you there". Again, had I not read these reviews, we may have fallen for this trap. Thankfully, I knew to say no and we walked away in under 10 minutes. I understand if you're a timeshare resort you want to try to sell, but be up front and honest about it. You'll get a much better response that way!!! No one books a vacation to come waste time thinking they are going to get a "complimentary" breakfast only to get sucked into a 60-90 minute + sales pitch. We talked to a handful of couples who were angry they had been tricked and actually MISSED shuttles to theme parks because of this. People don't come on vacation with an extra wad of cash to spend on a timeshare! Especially if they have no idea it's a time share. Even more pathetic, one couple told us the initial deposit started out at $3,000 and by the time they were done listening to the pitch, it had gone down to $75. HA! What a scam! Aside from this pathetic attempt to rope everyone into their sales presentation, our stay was great. The 2 bedroom villa we booked was very nice, clean and comfortable. I had read reviews of people complaining about the place being dirty because there was dust somewhere or hair on the bathroom floor. What we encountered was nothing out of the ordinary and makes me wonder if the people complaining actually live in immaculate conditions or just like to whine. There were a few times at night it got noisy as the head of our beds was on the outside walkway wall, which didn't make a lot of design sense. But overall, it was pretty quiet. Our party of 4 adults and 3 kids, ages 8-12 loved it. Our only complaint was that we didn't have more time to spend exploring the place. We did eat at the onsite Drafts restaurant and it was good. Nothing spectacular, but good. We also ordered pizza and that was good as well. The only other complaint we had was on our last night, a Saturday night, we could not find ONE place to park in the enormous resort. We had to go to a parking ramp and then either walk or be shuttled to our building. On our last night, this was especially frustrating as we wanted the car close and ready to load up in the morning. They need to do a better job of making sure the vehicles parked there are 1 per room and nothing else. The location to Universal Studios was WONDERFUL. We made it from our villa to a parking spot at Universal in under 30 minutes each day. Traffic was easy and a breeze. The trek to Disney was a little further, but not terrible as well. There is a Wal Mart not even 5 minutes down the road which is very convenient but it is SUPER busy and understaffed. We had better luck going a few minutes further to a Publix Market. There is a complimentary shuttle service but we did not use it so I can not comment. We would definitely stay here again and have no complaints other than the RIDICULOUS sales pitch attempt. Collapse

Say no to timeshare. We went through the presentation that was "guaranteed" to be 90 minutes. We had a shuttle to catch and made that very clear. Almost 3 hours!!!!! When we told Jose Rivas that we weren't interested, he became increasingly rude and condescending. I would expect that a resort that is ultimately trying to sell themselves to you would have impeccable customer service. Rude staff everywhere, except the buggy drivers. Even the sports bar had terrible service. Collapse

We arrived VERY early (about 6:30 am) on Super Bowl Sunday. Just wanted to check regarding our reservation and whether or not we could get in a bit early for Super Bowl. Three very helpful folks behind the desk got us into a room right away...so helpful and kind. Our one bedroom unit was very clean and modern, the pool area we used (there are three, I think) was clean, the water great, and lots of chairs, tables and recliners. There's even a bar area open at times. This Resort is perfectly situated between Universal and Disney and is also close to SeaWorld. Lots of restaurants, a WalMart and even close to the Outlet Mall. Very impressed with the service and security. Well done! Collapse
