great location but inconsistant service and in need of renovation and should train some of their staff

we spent 4 nights at the hotel. Having stayed at other Waldorf hotels which had been oustanding, our expectations had been high and we were disappointed. As the booked Garden View room had a view of the street and stains on the carpet it was not to our liking and we decided to pay for an upgrade to a park view room . The receptionist was very helpful and polite. Afternoon tea was nice. Things seemed not to be well maintained though: missing cover of broken wallscone in the cafe area, chipped table... When drawing the cleaning lady's attention to a broken soap dispenser in the toilet next to the spa she just shrugged her shoulders. Most staff were very friendly indeed while others did not return calls or did not do a booking as requested and one staff member did not even say good night after coming in for the turndown service. Breakfast downstairs was okay but the table linen was stained at several places when we were shown to the table. Service was very slow and dirty plates were only removed after quite a long time. Housekeeping was prompt and friendly when we asked for some champagne glasses for the minibar champagne. The room's aircon was excellent... very quiet... the bed was extremely comfortable but one of the pillows had a hole in it and there were stains on the linen. One day they forgot turndown service. The other day they forgot to replace the tea bags, then they forgot to bring us any tea cups, then they forgot to give us any glasses....inconsistent service quality is a no go for a 5 star hotel... drinks at the bar were nice but lights were much too bright... no cozy atmosphere...maybe that was why we were the only guests there on that evening? The place looks stylish enough but seems to lack a firm hand. Collapse

We stayed here after a visit to Versailles. As Versailles is only about a 40 minute Uber from Paris, one might reasonably argue -- why stay overnight ? The Hotel is nicely decorated, our room was large and even had a real shower !, but it was a little boring. It also was a bit disorganized -- with considerable confusion concerning bags, the main restaurant was closed, the bar only has "house wine" (this is France !), and with a perpetually running TV set. I think the real question is why stay here when one can stay in Paris ? Collapse

I travelled with my wife and 3 daughters (17, 14, & 12), setting off early from the UK by car and stopping off in Versailles for 1 night only on our way down to the South of France for a 2 week family holiday ... The children weren't sure what to expect but when we arrived at the Triannon Palace Hotel there eyes lit up and they realised they were in for a very pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived, to the time we unfortunately had to leave our very short stay at this hotel we were made to feel welcome and the whole experience is one that will stay with us for a very long. Perfect is so many ways; we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely love to return here one day (soon we hope!). Collapse

Lovely hotel in a great location right next to the Palace of Versailles. We had a pavilion room in the building opposite the hotel. It was very nice but we realised that our room was smaller than others because it had an odd balcony area which you couldn't sit on but which basically ate into the room space. Our children were in a room next door which was much bigger. Breakfast was lovely and so too was the outside terrace. We'd included Breakfast in the price of our stay but otherwise, food seemed a little pricey but that could just be the fact Paris is very expensive. Only minor criticism with the hotel was the check in process. There were only two people on the desk and lovely as it is to be checked in and then be shown some of the hotel facilities, it is HUGELY annoying if you are waiting in line to be served. Either they should have more staff on or they should hand off to someone else to do the tour. That said, it was only a minor gripe and we will return as the hotel is lovely and it's good value for the level of hotel. Collapse

Decided to stay here for two nights with my wife and two young daughters as a splurge at the tail end of our trip to Europe. It was expensive, but did not remotely disappoint. Gorgeous, very sizable room, superb staff who were warm and welcoming, and excellent service all around. Beautiful indoor pool that my kids loved. Easy walk to the Chateau and excellent restaurants in town if the ones on site are too fancy for your family. Collapse
